Mia Tomasi debuted her collection of artisan bouquets after gaining crucial knowledge and insights into the fashion industry. A post-graduate majoring in communications and media studies coupled with a BA in journalism from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, Mia has always considered her truest and greatest passion of all time to be found in the realms of budding trends and newfound traditions in today’s society.
In June 2013 she debuted her eponymous bejewelled bouquets influenced by her two obsessions: florals and jewellery. The former is a devotion to understanding diverse florals and the patience required for delicate beauties, a skill inherited from her father, a Phalaenopsis enthusiast. The latter is a passion which she keenly shares with her mother, both avid fans of the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor and her well-documented love affair with jewellry. Her bejewelled bouquets are highly regarded for their exclusivity and close attention to detail. Each bouquet is lovingly handcrafted and tailored to each bride-to-be. The result – each bride walking down the aisle in possession of their very own “something old, something new, something borrowed and something completely magical” experience.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Tomasi is currently in the midst of more creations such as her love of extravagance and over the top floral sculptures in the form of wedding centrepieces and prêt-à-porter line of accessories which include: unique bridal headdresses and veils as well as men’s lapel pin line , designed knowing that Men , too , deserve the very right to gifts , once held as a notion of love, symbolic only to Women..
