Wedding Buddies started in May 2011 and was founded by Jordan and Huinee, a husband and wife team who are both professional musicians and recently got married in 2010. They love music, food, performing and meeting new people; especially cute couples who can’t keep their hands off each other!
So they thought it would be a good idea to combine all their passions and start a small wedding music business; only to find out that it would explode into something bigger than they imagined. Omigosh. As such, whenever they are overwhelmed with too many performance requests, they frequently rope in the services of their many professional musician buddies; to accompany them at the various weddings and events; or help out with eating the buffet spread. We’re just kidding. Your food is safe with us. Haha. *insert shifty eyes emoticon*
Over the past 2 years, Wedding Buddies has performed for over 100 weddings and events, and has established a strong team of many professional musician friends. Some of whom include radio DJ’s Mathilda D’Silva and Selwyn Koh; veteran jazz singers Anne Weerapass and Karen Xavier; Singapore’s Final 1 competition finalist Meryl Joan Lee; MICapella’s Calin Wong and Peter Huang; JJ Lin and F.I.R.’s backup singer, Susanna Lau; Amei and David Tao’s musician, Casey Subramaniam; Lion King Musical musicians Rizal Sanip and Brandon Wong; other local artistes like Sarah Cheng De-Winne and Ywenna Carolin; and fresh upcoming talents like Pierre Goh and Gillian Tan; who’ve done a few local TV projects.
With such a big team of musical personalities, can you imagine the amount of wedding cake and food we’ve eaten? Mostly MacDonald’s and chicken rice. Ok, but seriously now, if you’re desperately searching for the right kind of live music for your wedding, and have no idea where to start; we’re more than happy to get to know you and find out more about your musical tastes! Don’t be shy! We’ve done all sorts of music from pop to rock to Gangnam style and RnB Raps! We’ll even learn how to play “ethnic post-modern classical trip-hop jazz fusion” if you really really really want.
